Free and Nutritious

Do you know that APA runs two year-round community food pantries in Visitacion Valley partnering with SF-Marin Food Bank? In 2017 we distributed 533 tons of food to the Visitacion Valley community. This equated to $1,844,631 worth of food, according to Sean Brooks, Chief Program Officer at SF-Marin Food Bank. Our Tuesday community food pantry is held at the Sunnydale Community Center, very close to our 1704 Sunnydale Ave. family center. Our Friday food pantry takes place in the auditorium of our Visitacion Valley Family Center on Raymond Ave.

We Got A Fresh Coat of Paint...Volunteers from HSBC and Saints Peter and Paul Church spent a Saturday to give our office a much needed freshening up, painting the rooms downstairs at our Nottingham Place office. Thanks to Kory Lam, HSBC, for sponsoring.

Peer-to-Peer Fundraising...Instead of birthday presents, volunteer Rae Lin asked her friends to help fund an APA cause. As a result, 21 kids from our client families got to visit the Exploratorium and a feel for the STEM activities APA offers. Thanks, Rae!   PHOTO link.

However she is...

YMCA Membership

We work with many SRO families and because their entire household live in a single room, they have no means to get healthy exercise or a place to spend their day without being in their small and confined room where they sleep, eat, and stay. Families that consistently participate in APA services are provided with YMCA memberships, enabling them to gain access to the workout gym, yoga classes, swimming pool, and other activities. The YMCA essentially extends their living space and gives them a period of respite.

Please donate to this worthy cause of YMCA membership for client families. Any amount is appreciated.
