About Cat Haven
Cat Haven's mission is to lead Baton Rouge in becoming a no-kill community for cats and kittens by providing care, shelter, and adoption services, as well as advocating routine spaying and neutering for population control.
Cat Haven began in 1999 in response to a community need for comprehensive animal welfare services for the overpopulation of stray and homeless cats and kittens in Baton Rouge. When we began, we were the first rescue organization to spay and neuter pets before adopting them to new homes, showcasing the value of responsible pet care, population control, and quality of life for our animal companions. Today, we still remain as the only organization who focuses exclusively on cats and kittens in Baton Rouge, and we proudly operate as a no-kill shelter. We are humbled to collaborate with other localanimal welfare organizations communit, such as Companion Animal Alliance to help them avoid overpopulation and euthanasia. We also work with the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine to provide a monthly low-cost spay/neuter event to the community to promote population control and quality of life.
The Cat Haven Adoption Center is located at 11130 N. Harrell's Ferry Rd. and is open Monday-Saturday 12-6 pm and Sunday 12-4 pm. To Learn more about Cat Haven, visit www.cathaven.org and follow them on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
