First Chance Residential Detox featured in The San Mateo Daily Journal

StarVista’s new program, First Chance Residential Detox, is featured in the San Mateo Daily Journal! First Chance began in the 1990s and is a 24-hour program that serves as an alternative to jail for persons arrested for driving under the influence or public intoxication.

"The first women focused drug detox center is coming to San Mateo County in a partnered effort by medical nonprofit StarVista and the county to provide gender specific care to an often overlooked population..."

StarVista’s Kids Kamp is accepting Kamper applications for its upcoming summer camp August 2-6! Hosted by StarVista’s Children’s Place program, Kids Kamp is designed for children living in families with alcohol and drug addiction to be able to put aside their stress and heal.

This year, we are hosting our Kids Kamp virtually for the health and safety of Kampers due to COVID-19. While our camp will not be in-person, we are grateful to share that we are extending the program beyond our Children’s Place school-site locations in Redwood City, to all youth, ages 7-12, in San Mateo County!

Kampers can look forward to a virtual, engaging experience during the first week in August, and will receive a “Kamper Kit” care package with required supplies and additional resources. Our counselors will provide a variety of online activities, games, crafts, and psychoeducation groups throughout the week.

Become a Visionary

StarVista’s Development and Marketing team invites all StarVista supporters, staff, clients, and families to participate in our 55 Art & Photo Drive!

We are looking for fun, artistic interpretations of StarVista’s 55th Anniversary logo in celebration of our agency’s birthday and our upcoming once-a-year fundraising event, Changing Lives.

Participants can work individually or as a team to recreate StarVista’s 55th Anniversary logo based on your own interpretation. Your final submission will be a picture of either a digital or physical artistic recreation; however, the recreation must contain the number “55”.

Each submission counts towards an entry in a drawing to win a limited edition, StarVista 55th Anniversary Hoodie. The drawing winner will be announced at StarVista’s virtual once-a-year fundraising event, Changing Lives on October 7, 2021. The deadline for submission to be entered into the drawing is September 1, 2021.
