Celebrating 988's One Year Anniversary

The 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline was launched July 16th, 2022, forever changing the way Americans could reach out for support during a mental health crisis. The StarVista Crisis Center is proud to be one of the 12 crisis centers across California responding to 988 contacts. The 12 crisis centers in California respond to more 988 contacts than any other state in the country.

Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, problems with substance use, or other emotional distress, you always have somewhere to turn.

If you are a San Mateo County resident, you can call our local line at 650-579-0350 to speak with a trained crisis worker 24/7 or dial 988 with a 650 area code.

StarVista Crisis Center will be expanding to take 988 chats & texts at the end of July!

Introducing StarVista's Health Ambassador Program-Youth (HAP-Y) Instagram

HAP-Y launched their Instagram in May to celebrate their 7th birthday and in support of Mental Health Awareness Month.

We believed the launch coincided with the purpose of HAP-Y's Instagram, which is to create a community for youth to learn, destigmatize, and share resources surrounding mental health.

HAP-Y ambassadors shared an interests in staying in touch via social media, and with Instagram they now have the opportunity to stay connected with each other and their community! Check out the HAP-Y channel @hapy_smc.

Help us Load the Bus to Camp Lodestar!

We are excited to bring back Kids Kamp this year! Hosted by our Children’s Place program, Kids Kamp is unique to San Mateo County. All participants come from homes where family members are experiencing mental health issues and/or alcohol and drug addiction.

Not only does the camp offer children the opportunity to connect and have fun, but it also empowers them to heal from their traumas through skill building, learn healthy coping skills, and explore their feelings in a safe and supportive environment.

$30,000 Dollar-for-Dollar Match

Please help our 20 Kids Kampers get to Camp Lodestar by August 6!

Each donation loads up our bus with kids, counselors, activities, meals, and more.

The best part? Every time you donate (load the bus to Lodestar), your dollars are matched up to $30,000!
