We hope that you and your loved ones have been safe and healthy during these trying times. The stress and uncertainty of a public health emergency like COVID-19 can take a toll, and we gently remind each beloved member of our community to take care of yourselves as you also care for your families and loved ones.
We strive to create a safe and nurturing environment for our young leaders, so in keeping with OUSD’s decision to close all schools starting March 16 to slow the spread of COVID-19, we will be suspending our after-school and school-site based programs at the Oakland and Sacramento elementary, middle and high schools where we serve. We look forward to supporting our youth again when we can do so to the best of our ability.
Hate has no place in this time of community crisis, and in the face of the fear-mongering and xenophobia stemming from COVID-19, we will continue to stand strong as a community. EBAYC will continue to build our vision of a world where young people grow up to be lifelong builders of a just and compassionate multicultural society -- and one free from misdirected fear.
