April 2023
April Showers and Cherry Blossom Flowers
Dear AAPIPers,
Spring is blooming here at AAPIP and throughout the philanthrosphere! For all who celebrate, we wish folks a renewing Thai, Lao, Cambodian New Year and a Happy Eid al-Fitr!
In March, our team immersed in a visit to Angel Island, the center of our upcoming June National Network Convening and Annual Meeting. An incredibly grounding experience, we're excited to soon welcome our network to a landmark piece of AANHPI history to greater inform a future of philanthropic funding with the fullness of our community's stories.
Last month also saw the circulation of the AA and NHPI Nonprofit Survey. Thank you to everyone who participated in completing this project! With 300+ responses, we're looking forward to unveiling brief findings at our June Convening.
In April and onward, we've got a host of upcoming AAPIP and community updates as we enter warmer days ahead! Keep scrolling for more.
Sincerely,
Team AAPIP

EXCITING AAPIP ANNOUNCEMENTS
We are excited to announce Courtney Chappell as AAPIP’s Vice President of Membership Programs! Courtney comes to us after completing consultancies with the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI) and with Philanthropy Northwest. She has served in a variety of leadership roles, including as Policy & Programs Director at the National Asian Pacific American Women’s Forum where she spearheaded the organization’s reproductive justice program and developed an intersectional action. During the Obama administration, Courtney served as Deputy Director at WHIAANHPI, creating a regional interagency working group that brought the federal government to the farthest corners of the country, linking local AA and NH/PI communities with federal services and programs. Courtney is passionate about using multiple strategies to promote racial and social justice.
She will begin this new role on June 5th, but in the meantime, please join us in welcoming Courtney!
