May Appreciation. June Celebration. You In?

May is National Military Appreciation Month, and what better way to celebrate than to register for our WoVeN Women Veterans Day Celebration!

Join us a few days early on Saturday, June 6th, from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM ET for an amazing virtual gathering designed with YOU in mind!

You'll hear from a dynamic Veteran panel featuring WoVeN women from different eras and branches of service. After that, we'll move into breakout rooms for real conversation and sisterhood - the kind of conversations that drew us together in the first place. You can also expect lively trivia with prizes and a special spotlight on our "WoVeN's Got Your 6 in 2026" challenge, as we celebrate the connections we've made while recognizing the women who completed the challenge.

Oh, Now THIS Is the Good Stuff!

One of our newest WoVeN sisters just wrapped up her very first eight-week group, and she took the time to share what the experience meant to her:

"I recently completed the WoVeN eight-week course with Valerie and Linda from 17 February to 06 April 2026. Both of them created a natural, safe space from inception. Valerie's sense of humor, mixed with Linda's straightforwardness, provided the perfect atmosphere for our group, which is called Women of Strength (WOS). We laughed and cried together. We also shared our most vulnerable perspectives on topics weekly, which developed the bond we have now. We enjoyed the group so much that we decided to create an Alumni Group to stay in touch. Their continuous encouragement was key in supporting each member of the group. Having Valerie and Linda as Peer Leaders has inspired me to pursue this path as well. I told Linda, 'When I grow up, I want to be like you.' She replied with a smile and said, 'You got that.' Bottom line up front, Valerie and Linda are two amazing members of WoVeN whom I hope everyone will get a chance to meet one day."

Lashawn’s words perfectly capture the heart of what happens when women Veterans show up for each other in these spaces.

To Valerie and Linda, we cannot thank you enough for your outstanding leadership and heartfelt service to our fellow Veterans. And to the members of Group 372 - Women of Strength - CONGRATULATIONS!

Where Service Meets Healing

This spring, our sisters showed up in meaningful ways.

In March, Clara, Tye, and Sandra joined forces at Whispering Manes Therapeutic Riding Center, helping restore sensory trails, build a new paddock, and beautify the Butterfly Garden for children and adults with disabilities.

Meanwhile, Alayna participated in the Out of the Darkness Campus Walk at Western Kentucky University. This incredible Veteran walked in remembrance, raising awareness for suicide prevention and turning personal loss into hope for others.

May’s Still Serving Spotlight: Blood Drives

Summer can be a challenging season for blood banks; donations drop, but the need in hospitals never does. Giving blood is a service that happens one pint at a time. It’s a simple act with life-saving impact. Every donation supports someone in crisis, a surgery patient, a trauma victim, or even a child in treatment. You may never meet the person you help, but your willingness to show up could mean everything to them.

Gather a group and donate together. This is what Still Serving looks like beyond the uniform: stepping forward when there’s a need, answering the call without hesitation, and making a measurable difference in your community.

One donor. One pint. One life at a time.

Still Serving - because the mission doesn’t end.

The Gift of Self-Care

As the days grow warmer and nature's colors return, now may be the time to gift yourself the space and opportunity to tend to your emotional garden, while connecting (or reconnecting) with your sisters.

We understand that life can be hectic, and sometimes we can feel like there's never really a "good" time for self-care. But let's change that! Let's make time and watch what beauty unfolds.
