Celebrating Our Sisterhood!🥳
|
|
Nearly 50 women Veterans came together to celebrate WoVeN’s 9th Birthday, and WOW, was it a blast! From lively small group conversations to a creative Word Cloud activity (go check our social media to see what everyone shared), the connections and energy in the room were undeniable!
We kept the momentum going with a fun scavenger hunt, then shared updates on what’s ahead as we step further into 2026. As fun as that was, the event was ultimately a heartwarming reminder of what makes this community so powerful: our unshakeable and unbreakable bonds.
Here’s to nine years of connection, and many more to come.
Take the First Step - Apply Today!
Ready to take the next step in your WoVeN journey? Applications are now open for our upcoming Peer Leader Training, happening Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd.
This virtual training is designed for WoVeN alumni who have completed a group and are ready to lead, support, and strengthen connections within our community. As many of our Peer Leaders can attest, this is more than training. It’s an opportunity to give back in new and exciting ways, experience growth as a leader, and make a lasting impact alongside fellow women Veterans.
Spots are limited, so hit that "Submit Your Application" button below and apply today!
Join us on June 6th, as WoVeN comes together to celebrate Women Veterans Day! We’re planning a virtual gathering to recognize and honor the strength, service, and stories of women who have worn the uniform.
Details and timing may fluctuate, but you can expect a meaningful space to connect, reflect, and celebrate as a community.
Stay tuned for more - but save your seat today!
We'd Love to See You
Did you know that each month we offer two virtual gatherings? These meetings are spaces where women Veterans come together to connect, share, and support one another.
Peer Leader Meetings
A monthly meet-up to share updates, celebrate wins, discuss challenges, and strengthen our sisterhood. Invitations and links are automatically sent to all registered Peer Leaders.
WoVeN at Large
Open to all women Veterans!
Whether you’re new to WoVeN or just looking to connect, come and join the conversation.
Well over 100 women Veterans have already signed up and are stepping outside their circles, starting conversations, and strengthening the connections that make this network so powerful.
This is your invitation to be part of it. Reach out to a woman Veteran you haven’t met yet. Start simple. Show up. That one connection could mean more than you realize.
If you haven’t registered yet, now is the time! Sign up below, grab your connection toolkit, and take that first step.
We’ve got her 6, and we’ve got yours, too.

Heart of a Volunteer

Our WoVeN community continues to show what Still Serving looks like across the country. On March 20, 2026, our WoVeN sisters partnered with United Way (Odulia Ashby), JBSA Lackland, and the San Antonio Food Bank, joining seven women Veteran organizations to distribute food to active duty service members and the Veteran population at Lackland AFB, TX. WoVeN was proudly represented by Brenda Massey, Janice Maupin, Tee Hall, Brittany Spencer, and Nita Sneed.
In Fayetteville, NC, WoVeN members Linda Barnes and Lashawn Yarborough attended a Women’s History Month event at VFW Post 6018, pictured alongside Perry Saunders, Post Commander, and Michelle Dowdy. Their presence and participation reflect the continued impact of women Veterans showing up, connecting, and honoring service beyond the uniform.
April’s Still Serving Spotlight: Community Cleanup
Community cleanups are service you can see immediately. Every bag filled, every sidewalk cleared, every shared effort restores pride in the places we live, work, and gather. Showing up together sends a clear message: this place matters.
Working side by side builds connection and shared ownership. It’s a chance to notice what needs attention, take responsibility, and leave something better than you found it.
This is what Still Serving looks like beyond the uniform: teamwork in action, accountability to the community, and purpose found through small, collective efforts. One area. One team. One cleaner community.
Still Serving - because the mission doesn’t end.

Month of the Military Child
The dandelion, known as the official flower of the military child, represents a kind of resilience that sometimes goes unrecognized but is always felt. These children learn early how to adapt, to rebuild, and to find their footing in unfamiliar places. They often carry strength in quiet ways, growing wherever life plants them.
As we celebrate this community, we also recognize the families who stand alongside our women Veterans, especially the children who grow through every transition, every move, and every new beginning. Their strength is part of the story, too.
